Crypto Foxes
A downloadable Web3 Game
CryptoFoxes / Foxaria: Runners League
CryptoFoxes is a competitive web3 platformer centered around deterministic movement gameplay, time-based competition, and persistent leaderboard-driven progression systems. The project later evolved into Foxaria: Runners League, refining its focus on high-skill execution and competitive ranking integrity.
🧩 Project Context
- Genre: Competitive Platformer / System-driven Arcade / Web3
- Engine: Unity
- Core Pillars: Precision movement, run consistency, persistent ranking systems
- Technical Focus: Gameplay systems + backend-integrated competitive infrastructure
The project is structured around short-session competitive runs where player performance is validated through timing accuracy and consistency, feeding into persistent global leaderboards and progression systems.
🧠 My Role — Unity Gameplay / Systems Developer
I worked as a Unity Developer with a focus on implementing core gameplay systems and supporting the competitive backend infrastructure required for persistent scoring and ranking functionality.
- Implementation of core movement and run-based gameplay systems in Unity
- Development and integration of leaderboard and scoring systems
- Backend integration for persistent player data (scores, progression, rankings)
- Ensuring determinism and consistency in gameplay-driven scoring logic
- Collaboration on system architecture to support competitive integrity
⚙️ Systems & Technical Focus
- Gameplay Systems Architecture: modular movement and run logic designed for consistency and replayability
- Leaderboard & Scoring Pipeline: persistent ranking system with backend synchronization
- Data Integrity: ensuring consistency between gameplay execution and backend validation layers
- Backend Integration: handling data flow between Unity runtime systems and external services
- Competitive Design Support: reinforcing fair and repeatable gameplay conditions for ranked competition
🧠 Engineering Takeaways
This project reinforced the importance of building gameplay systems with strict consistency constraints, especially in competitive environments. A key focus was ensuring that movement, scoring, and leaderboard logic remained deterministic and aligned between client-side execution and backend persistence.
